Will you help us to make a difference as we help individuals to stay free from addiction, break the cycle of homelessness, and become productive citizens in our community?
You really can make a difference as you support the work of Fairhaven House |
 |
Fairhaven House provides low income housing and other resources to individuals who have been addicted to drugs, alcohol, gambling, other addictions, and have a limited income. Some individuals only have enough income to cover membership dues (rent). However, in spite of these circumstances, because of Fairhaven House these individuals have experienced positive change in their life.
Because of the budget crisis in Washington State, housing assistance for those coming out of recovery is very minimal. More there are individuals who were homeless that are going into treatment and coming out of treatment with no place to live. For most, the addiction cycle will start all over again. This can be prevented. How? Through sponsorship-individuals helping to sponsor someone's housing for a few months until they get back on their feet. Clean and sober living does make a difference.
Below are some stories of Changed Lives.

Lives are being changed because of Fairhaven House
We have a gentleman that had his own business but lost everything because of drinking. By living at Fairhaven he has been able to start over and is now one of our house managers.
We have a gentleman who would go commercial fishing and spend all his earnings on alcohol for several years. Last year he moved into the house, went commercial fishing, and has moved back into the house. He has shown us much gratitude for having the chance to live at Fairhaven again.
We had a gentleman who because of living in a clean & sober environment was able to go back to school and obtain a CDL license to be a truck driver.
Because of hearing about Fairhaven on There is Hope Radio, we had a gentleman that went to out-patient treatment for the first time even though he has been an alcoholic for years. He is doing very well.
We had a long term drug addict who lived at one of the houses for almost two years. He is strong in his sobriety and has been a sponsor to many men and devotes his time in helping others.
We had an ex-alcoholic who has been clean & sober for over two years. He lost everything because of his addiction. However, he has quit drinking, quit smoking, and now has a very good job working at a university. |

Help!!!!
Starting in the Spring of 2011 some of our members received a cut in their benefits. Their benefits went from $339 a month to $197 a month. On Nov 1, the $197 benefit will go to $0.00. Our house membership dues (rent) are $330 a month. Fairhaven House must receive a minimum of $330 a month per client to cover our lease, utility, and other expenses. Along with our existing clients there are many potential clients graduating from treatment that may not have a place to live because almost all transitional houses need a minimum of $300 a month or more to operate. So your donations are critical for us to be able to keep people from living on the streets.
